Welcome to 2026 from the Western States Police Canine Association!
As we step into a new year, we want to extend our sincere appreciation to our members, partner agencies, trainers, handlers, and supporters who continue to advance the professionalism and effectiveness of police canine teams across the western states.
A special thank you goes out to everyone who attended last year’s conference at the Peppermill in Reno, Nevada. Your participation, training, and camaraderie made it a tremendous success and reinforced the strong community that defines our association.
We also want to recognize the many canine officers, departments, and host agencies who dedicated their time and effort to organizing and competing in annual canine trials and competitions throughout the year. These events not only showcase exceptional skill and teamwork but also strengthen relationships, improve readiness, and promote excellence in K9 operations.
Now that we’re almost three months into the new year, let’s begin planning for the upcoming canine trial season. If you’re interested in hosting a trial or attending, please don’t hesitate to contact any of the board members of the WSPCA.
As we move forward into 2026, we look forward to continued collaboration, advanced training opportunities, and supporting the vital work you and your canine partners perform every day. Stay safe, stay sharp, and thank you for your commitment to service.
Sincerely,
