WSPCA-sanctioned competitions are sponsored by agencies in the states of California, Nevada, and Idaho.  Competitions are open to all K9 teams from law enforcement and military agencies.  Phases include Narcotics Detection, Search , Agility, Obedience, and Protection scenarios.  Awards are given at each competition.  K9 teams are also awarded points toward year-end rankings.  At the end of the competition season, the WSPCA names the top ten K9 teams based on point accumulation at the individual competitions.  Points only count for those K9 teams that are members at time of competition.
